Run to save lives
Dear colleagues!
The Charity Fund "The Right to Protection", together with the State Migration Service of Ukraine in December-November 2017, plans to hold a social information campaign under the conditional title "Running to Survive".
The main purpose of the information campaign is to raise the level of humanity, tolerance of the Ukrainian society to migrants, to understand the reasons for the arrival of refugees in Ukraine and the realization of their needs. We want to inform Ukrainian citizens that refugees are going to us because they are forced to save their lives and their children's lives.
Campaign materials will be posted on social networks, on television and on Internet resources. The campaign will start with a social 30-second video.
With this letter, we appeal to everyone to join and support the campaign by considering the possibility of a reportage and placing the above-mentioned video on the air and on the resources of your company, on social networks, and so on.
The script of the video: a shot is heard and viewers see the legs, hands and faces of the man running, and then - a woman who also runs. At the same time, the subtitles and voice of the speaker appear: "Some are running - to lose weight. Some run for endurance. And some - just for fun. I am a refugee because I save my life. I'm running to survive. " The latest frames - a man and a woman running from the burning city, holding small children's hands.
The United Nations Declaration of Principles of Tolerance of November 16, 1995, states that tolerance is the respect, perception and understanding of the rich diversity of cultures in our world, the forms of self-expression of the human person. The formation of tolerance is facilitated by knowledge, openness, communication and freedom of thought, conscience and belief. It is ethnic tolerance as an important indicator of the commitment of Ukrainian society to democratic values ??and the European integration vector, an important task of state policy.
Today in Ukraine there are less than three thousand refugees. Their main need is to have the opportunity to build a new life in a new safe environment. Against the background of difficulties with obtaining the necessary documents and the realization of their rights, the greatest problem of refugees remains the full integration into Ukrainian society.
It is myths and stereotypes that most often prevent refugees from becoming part and full members of society. The most effective method of refuting the myths about refugees, which at present there is no more than refugees themselves in our country, is constant work with the community and independent information on the number and status of refugees in Ukraine.
The campaign will be conducted within the framework of the project "Making Ukraine a more tolerant place for refugees and asylum seekers", supported by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
President
