About 50 Ukrainians and ethnic Poles refused to go to Poland from the area ATO - Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine
Not all Ukrainians of Polish descent living in Donetsk and Lugansk regions, have expressed their desire to go to Poland in the framework of assistance to ethnic Poles, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebiynis.
At a briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday, he said that about 50 Ukrainian citizens of Polish descent remain in the area ATO.
"In Poland served 178 people, about 50 Ukrainian citizens of Polish origin who live in the area affected by the ATO, did not wish to leave their homes," - he said.
According to the Speaker of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, the Polish government announced it had no plans to evacuate again, this one-time event.
Ukrainians will be in Poland a few months to stabilize the situation in the Donbass. The initiative for assistance came from the local Polish community - corresponding appeal was sent to the President and the Prime Minister of Poland.
As reported, on 10-11 January, with the assistance of the cities of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Volnovaha Lugansk region Severodonetsk and Donetsk region were exported 178 Ukrainian citizens of Polish origin. They were transported to the six special buses escorted by UAS in the Kharkiv region.
January 13 they all flew from Kharkov in Malbork (Poland).
