Bulgaria EU gave 108 million euro to strengthen border
The European Union has allocated 108 million euro in Bulgaria to help the country to protect its borders from illegal immigration.
Such a statement at the summit of EU leaders in Bratislava did European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.
"The European Union has decided to allocate 108 million euros Bulgaria as emergency funding to help it protect its borders from the increasing flow of illegal migrants," - said Juncker.
According to him, financial support from the EU can be increased to 160 million euros, according to the request of Bulgaria.
Earlier Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said that the EU summit in Bratislava will ask EU leaders to provide urgent assistance to strengthen the country's border.
