During 2014-2017, the number of detainees in Greece for the transportation of illegal migrants of Ukrainians increased significantly. During this period, in the Greek places there were 150 people. This was reported by the representative of the Department of Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasyl Kyrylych in a comment to the Public Radio. According to Cyrillic, last year, the Ukrainian Consul in Greece visited 26 Ukrainians in the local prisons, because they asked for help. However, none of them agreed to cooperate. "During the years 2014-2017, the consul held meetings and telephone conversations with detained citizens of Ukraine, but none of them agreed to cooperate with the consul on informing law enforcement agencies of Ukraine about those who dragged them into the process of transportation of illegal migrants," Kirillich said. According to Cyrillic, the said Ukrainians did not want to inform the consul their personal data, circumstances of detention and details of criminal cases.
