Among the stories was the rescue of a newborn girl who was buried by her mother, a young woman who was almost drowning during a rest, as well as the release of hostages who were held in a barricaded room by a patient in a psychiatric hospital.
Sergei Knyazev said that today in the National Police, the results of the civil, but very important for the community contest "Police who saved me" are summarizing in the National Police. This competition was initiated by the Department of Communications of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on July 26, 2017. During this time, there were about 50 stories from eyewitnesses, event participants, and colleagues of the police-saviors themselves. The awarding of nominees was attended by the head of the State Emergency Situations Ministry Mykola Chechotkin, as such significant events as saving human life, belong to the competence of the DSNC.
The history of the rescue of the 5-year-old Victoria from Rivne region won the contest. This story was sent by Natalia Pokrovskaya, a woman who had adopted a girl.
The 39-year-old police captain Vasily Diachuk became the savior of the child. Now he is working as Deputy Director of the Sarnensky Police Department of Rivne Oblast, Head of the Investigation Department.
At the end of October 2011, thanks to professionally competent police actions, the life of a newborn child was saved. Her mother buried a girl in her own yard right after her birth.
Having heard the squeak of the child, Vasyl Dyachuk immediately began to scratch the earth with his hands. Under a 20-centimeter layer of land lay a girl wrapped in shmaty. The doctors did not wait, and the official car brought the child to the hospital. Since then, the policeman has been taking care of the fate of the child, becoming her savior, who is now close by.
Another life story is the rescue of a lieutenant of patrol police Nikolai Ponomarenko, a 23-year-old resident of Kropyvnitsky. A young woman went to swim at one of the local beaches and did not return to the company with which she was having a rest. Young people called the police.
Kropivnitsky Patrol Police Inspector Nikolai Ponomarenko was in the crew who accepted this challenge.
On the spot, patrols noticed a silhouette of a man in the water of the river Ingul. The distance from the coast to that place was about 100 meters. Below the river, the police noticed fishing on a boat, which with the help of a loudspeaker, too, was directed to a man on the water. Meanwhile, the patrol officer Ponomarenko decided to sail to help the victim. Having traveled to the girl, a police officer found that she did not give signs of life.
The officer asked the fisherman, who swam to the place on his boat, to keep the victim above the surface of the water. The policeman himself began to provide her with medical assistance. As a result, the lungs of women were partially released from the water and she began to breathe independently. Later the victim was handed over to the team of physicians who came to the challenge.
The head of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations, Mykola Chechotkin, noted the positive fact that there are people in the police who, in carrying out their duties, show courage and heroism in the search and rescue of people.
"After all, human life is the most expensive thing that exists in a person on this land," said Mykola Chechotkin, handing over to both police officers the departmental chestnuts of the SSNU "For Courage in an Emergency".
Meanwhile, in Lviv, seven patrols helped clear about 40 patients of a local psychiatric hospital. They were taken hostage by a man who was in the same institution on treatment. The attacker barred his hostages hostage in the hospital room and threatened them with physical harassment.
Several crews of the Lviv Patrol Police came to the challenge. Police Senior Lieutenant Yuri Tiravsky, police lieutenants Roman Blicharsky, Stanislav Getman, Andriy Zvonyk, Nazar Oleh, as well as police sergeants Bogdan Gadomsky and Volodymyr Smolinets were in charge of the patrols.
The attacker began to throw pieces of glass and pieces of metal lattice designs in front of law enforcement officers. The police called on doctors because they had noticed traces of blood on the floor, and themselves were hiding in the meanwhile by means of help and began to climb to the room hijacked by the attacker. From there, cries of help were heard, so the policemen decided to storm the barricaded doors.
Penetrating into the room, the patrols saw that the entire floor was in the spots of blood, and many patients received sliced ??body wounds and neck area. The suspect himself was at the end of the corridor, holding in his hands a sharp object. He did not seem like a policeman and tried to escape. Law enforcers applied a gas cartridge to her husband and knocked out a piece of glass that he threatened with the police. The attacker was detained and transferred to doctors. It turned out that a 31-year-old man was on compulsory treatment for the brutal murder of his father.
"The policemen have made the right decision, instantly responded to the offense, which could lead to large losses. A mentally ill man attacked the doctors and blocked all departments. In fact, this is a terrorist threat, it would be possible to state it. And therefore we decided without a doubt that it is all these officers who need to be encouraged ", - said Sergei Knyazev. The Head of the National Police handed patrol decorations to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine" For Courage in the Service ", and the mother of the rescued girl - a prize for winning the competition. We recall , Ivano-Frankivsk patrol prevented the man's suicide. Also, in June, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov awarded patrols that saved the lives of the inhabitants of Lutsk. Previously, the patrols of the Dnipro River saved four teenagers who The wooden design was carried to the middle of the river. The Department of Communication of the National Police of Ukraine
