Migration profile is prepared based on the format proposed by the European Commission, which contains different statistical and analytical information to assess migration situation as a whole.
Service Efforts are currently focused on making the migration profile kind of auxiliary tool in the formulation of public policy in migration, demographic, social, financial and other sectors of activity and security.
Migration profile of Ukraine may be used not only government but also local governments to timely make informed management decisions in their respective fields, to develop their own development strategy with a view to possible consequences for migration and for other activities.
Migration profile of Ukraine will also be useful for students, pupils and ordinary citizens because it allows not only the existing state migration in Ukraine, but also contains information about the circumstances that affect or may affect them and their consequences.
The international dimension, migration profile update Ukraine is part of cooperation between countries in the field of migration management on the one hand, providing information about the situation in the areas of migration, on the other hand, giving a different empirical and statistical basis for planning and policy development.

History Migration Profile Ukraine
For the first time migration profile of Ukraine prepared the IOM (International Organization for Migration) in October 2008 (2007).
Later, in 2009-2011, updated migration profile for Ukraine in the framework of "Building Migration Partnerships", which was carried out from January 2009 to June 2011 with the support of the European Union.
The main objective of this initiative - to promote the implementation of the Joint Declaration adopted at the Prague Conference on "Building Migration Partnerships"
(27-28 April 2009), held with the participation of Ministers responsible for migration, from 49 countries and supported by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (International Centre for Migration Policy Development).
Initiative "Building Migration Partnerships" was implemented jointly by the Czech Republic (Ministry of Interior), Hungary (Ministry of Interior), Poland (Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration), Romania (Ministry of Administration and Internal Affairs), Slovakia (Ministry of Interior) and ICMPD.
Partners of the initiative - migration authorities of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation.
Update Migration Profile Ukraine in 2013 has carried LCA Ukraine, but with significant organizational and advisory support missions in Ukraine International Organization for Migration, the International Labour Organization and the European Union.
Since 2014 Migration profile updated LCA Ukraine independently without outside financial, organizational or advice.
