Frequent cases of fraud with the registration of foreign passports
There is an abnormally high demand for the issuance of foreign passports related to the holiday season and the introduction of a visa-free regime for Ukraine for Ukraine. Since the beginning of the year more than 1 million 800 thousand passports have been issued, more than 20 thousand documents are issued every day.
The large number of those who want to issue a passport and queues in the subdivisions have created conditions for fraud mediators who offer "help" in processing a biometric passport without a queue for 1.3 or 5 days. The most "intermediaries" can do is to facilitate the processing of documents without a queue. Occasionally and without unscrupulous workers of the migration service, which are increasingly detected by law enforcement officers. However, such proposals are often fraudulent, since no travel agency or any other person can guarantee that a person's entry into the migration service unit is out of turn, and no short-term passport production.
The Migration Service of Ukraine reminds that according to the current legislation, the passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad can be arranged only personally and only in one of three institutions: the units of the migration service, the center for providing administrative services or the service center "Passport service" of the state enterprise "Document » Under no circumstances should it be possible to use the services of any intermediaries, including for outsourcing documents.
In addition, the Migration Service advises citizens to refrain from planning a trip abroad (booking a hotel, purchasing tickets, etc.) without having a valid passport for traveling abroad, as due to the substantially increased demand for documents, possible delays in issuing them.
