Society's tolerance in modern conditions
In Odessa, January 29, 2015 held a roundtable on the subject "Tolerance of Society in Modern Conditions". The organizers of a roundtable were: "The International congress on protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens "Shield" in conjunction "The International union of journalists and writers".
Among the participants of the roundtable were representatives of: The United Nations on Human rights, Chairman of the National union of Journalists of Ukraine, the representative of the Department of Culture and Tourism, the Consul of Romania in Odessa and representatives of (Chechen, Afghan, Arab, Georgian, Vietnamese, Moldavian and others) nations, Deputies of the Odessa City Council, representatives of various International human rights organizations, representatives of the media.
The main questions presented on a roundtable were: the review of the conflicts on the international, religious and racial soil, the responsibility of mass media in incitement of these conflicts when covering events in the world, questions of journalistic ethics, a freedom of speech, and also human rights, the citizen and the journalist.
According the results of the memorandum of a roundtable adopted memorandum and signatures to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, to the President of the Council of Europe Hermann Van Rompuy, the President of the International federation of journalists Jim Bumela an appeal to the international community, journalists and all people of the world to be tolerant, to condemn the violation of journalists ethics in covering questions of religion, the provisions of the UN Statute on public morals.
