Valery Lutkovska personally talked with detained by Russian special forces
In the framework of the National Preventive Mechanism Ombudsman Valeria Lutkovska today, August 17, visited the detainees in the prison near the town of Happiness (Lugansk region.) Employees of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Alexander Alexandrov and Yevgeny Yerofeyev.
Communication of detainees was face to face, without the presence of the administration of the institution.
The detainees did not express any complaints about conditions of detention, the quality of health services, attitudes of staff.
As Valeria Lutkovska, one of the earlier detainees complained about the excessive attention on the part of the media and expressed the wish to limit such communication. Said wish was granted administration institutions.
During a personal conversation detainees told Valerie Lutkovska that while in prison they met with the Consul of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
Detainees stated that the right to protection they provided in full, and through lawyers they have the opportunity to communicate with friends and family.
Valery Lutkovska reported that both cameras have a TV that detainees were transferred through lawyers because they have the ability to browse entertainment and news transmission. In her question whether they understand the content of broadcasts, as broadcasting is Ukrainian, one of the detainees said that, in his opinion, it is already quite fluent in Ukrainian.
Among the wishes detained, including V. Lutkovska asked the Ombudsman to transfer in - is to focus more on the detained citizens of Ukraine who are in prison in Russia.
Recall, August 3, Ombudsman of the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova has sent an official letter V. Lutkovska request to visit the Russian citizens Alexander Alexandrov Evgeny Erofeev and transferred to the Central Military Hospital to the prison. The next day Valery Lutkovska reported that soon will visit the Russian special forces.
In turn, Valery Lutkovska expressed request to the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova to visit the detained Ukrainian citizens who are in captivity in Russia, namely Nicholas Karpyuk and journalist Stanislav Klyha. Also Ukrainian ombudsman once again asks Ella Pamfilova assist in ensuring the access of Ukrainian consulate to citizens of Ukraine who are in captivity, thereby realizing the right to consular assistance. After all, until now, for unknown reasons, representatives of the Ukrainian consulate has never been able to visit detainees of many Ukrainian citizens.
