As part of the international symposium, experts and scholars discussed on combating illegal migration and human trafficking
For two days in Ivano-Frankivsk held International scientific-practical Symposium "Combating illegal migration and human trafficking." The event was organized Ivano-Frankivsk University of Law named after King Danylo Galician experts and one of the oldest in Europe subregional organizations Central European Initiative (CEI Cooperation Fund). Participants in the symposium were experts from seven European countries, including Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, Slovenia, Hungary, Georgia and Belarus.
Participants in two discussion panels shared their experience of use and application of legal mechanisms for combating unauthorized migration and human trafficking.
Foreign experts admit that today the illegal exploitation of persons is a global problem worldwide. So it must solve together. The first step to improve the legislation. For example, Belarusian and Georgian scientists described the safety mechanisms that are effective according to Belarus and Georgia. Instead Ukrainian legal experts argue that domestic legislation fully complies with European regulations for the protection of criminal victims, but the problem lies elsewhere. It is, in fact, the workers from Ukraine abroad are often victims of labor or sexual exploitation, but prefer not to report crimes.
Another significant problem that threatens Ukraine is unauthorized mass influx of foreigners, experts warn. This is due primarily uncontrolled border of Ukraine with the country-aggressor Russia and the development of free trade with the EU.
During the symposium, participants professionally analyzed statistics on illegal migration and human trafficking, systematized practice of law in combating illegal migration and crime related to human trafficking, developed proposals to improve legal mechanisms to combat these shameful events.
In the International Symposium attended Deputy Head of the Aliens, stateless persons and combating illegal migration UDMS Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk region Nikolai Chupirchuk. As part of the discussion panel "The organizational and legal issues of combating illegal migration and human trafficking" expert described the state migration service migration in the region related to the stay in the area in connection with training a large number of foreign students, in carrying out practical issues measures to combat illegal migration.
