An external meeting of the chairman of the Odessa Regional Council Anatoly Urbansky was held to familiarize himself with the progress of work on the reconstruction of the connecting channel between the Tiligulsky estuary and the Black Sea.
The event was attended by: People's Deputy of Ukraine Pavel Unguryan, Regional Council Deputy Oleg Kutateladze, Director of the Regional Tigilulsky Landscape Park Vitaliy Petrusenko, Head of the Department for Natural Resources of the Regional Council Office, Oleksandr Kharlashin.
People's Deputy of Ukraine Pavlo Unguryan emphasized that the task of parliamentarians from the Odessa region is to speak less and help with specific affairs to the native region.
"Last year, at the initiative of the regional council - the heads of the regional council Anatoliy Urbansky and deputy of the regional council Oleg Kutateladze in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine began to deal with the problems of the Tiligul estuary. In support of this initiative, a number of meetings were held to attract a serious state resource to save the estuary. This year, we were able to allocate additional funds for solving the problem of the construction of gateways and the creation of sea bombs ", - said Pavlo Unguryan.
During the inspection of the object, the head of the regional council Anatoly Urbansky noted that the pace of construction is satisfied:
"Less than six months ago there was a field. During this time of work essentially advanced. I am very pleased with the pace of construction of this channel. A lot of equipment and consumables have been imported. We talked with our colleagues from the regional council, the Verkhovna Rada, and with the executives (contractors). This year, investments will be enough to completely complete the marine part, namely: hydrotechnical structures that start the upgraded channel. By the way, the locksmith and gateways for fish retention are the most expensive part of construction. I very much hope that the pace of construction will only increase. According to the project data, work on this facility should end in 2019, but judging by the rates we are moving with, the construction will be completed in 2018. "
"Lyman gives life to almost three districts of two oblasts - Odesa and Mykolaiv. The project for the restoration of the Tiligul estuary is vital for both reproduction of fish and nesting of birds, and for the development of the recreational zone. When the work is completed, even a boat can pass through a 2 meter depth channel. And the two regions will begin to live. This is our dream, which is now being implemented, "- said the deputy of the regional council Oleg Kutateladze.
In turn, the director of the Regional Landscape Park "Tiligulsky" (Odessa region) Vitaliy Petrusenko said:
"At this stage the reconstruction of the connecting channel of the Tiligul Channel - the Black Sea continues. Fully ready gateway, work on sea construction is being prepared, booms are already taken out into the sea and filled with concrete. Approximately the work we plan to finish by the end of October. We also plan to launch some water in order to fill the ornithological reserve. "
